Anxiety Treatment

Anxiety Treatment Center

Anxiety and Christianity

Anxiety is a mental health concern that affects approximately 6.8 million adults in the United States. There are several ways that anxiety can manifest, which explains the variety of anxiety disorders that people struggle with. This can include social anxiety, separation anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, and panic disorder.

The different types of anxiety disorders will have different symptoms. For example, someone struggling with panic disorder experiences frequent and unexpected panic attacks, whereas someone struggling with a generalized anxiety disorder may struggle with restlessness, fatigue, irritability, and sleep difficulties.

A common experience for Christians is that they turn to their faith for strength. This begins by accepting that God has a plan for you and that he has not given you something that you cannot handle. However, anxiety can still occur in individuals who are faithful Christians.

If you are seeking a Christian anxiety treatment program, we encourage you to consider Christians Drug Rehab. We are an addiction treatment program that is capable of working with individuals struggling with a dual diagnosis. To learn more about our services, we encourage you to call (866) 434-1330 today.

For Christians on the road from addiction to recovery, it’s also important to find a rehabilitation center that offers faith-based services that can uniquely support your sobriety and journey of spiritual growth.

Christian Anxiety Treatment Program

What is Anxiety Treatment for Christians?

When you come to one of the many Christian anxiety treatment centers, you will meet with a staff member for an evaluation. During this time, they will take time to get to know you better and gain a better understanding of your anxiety symptoms. From here, they will work with you to develop an effective treatment plan that aligns with your Christian values.

The treatment facility will work with you to see where you can strengthen your relationship with God. For example, if you are praying for him to help relieve your symptoms, what are you doing yourself? If your actions continue in a manner that contributes to your anxiety, you will not see much of a difference in your symptoms.

Another way that you could strengthen your relationship with God would be to utilize more services. These could be traditional services, meeting with a Pastor for guidance, and Bible studies. All of these practices can help you gain a new perspective that could benefit you and your anxiety symptoms.

When we think about the holistic care you will experience in a Christian anxiety treatment program, you will be working on improving your mind, body, and spirit. A significant component that impacts all three areas of this is your physical health. We know that not eating well, not exercising, and failing to get enough sleep at night will worsen mental health concerns such as anxiety.

While you are in a treatment program, you will be asked to evaluate your behaviors and habits and see where changes could be made. This may sound overwhelming, so try not to be deterred. Focus on small changes that you can make to your routine, and you will see that the combination of small changes will lead to significant changes.

HOW CHRISTIAN DRUG REHAB STANDS OUT

Why Choose Our Christian Anxiety
Treatment Center

Christians Drug Rehab is an addiction treatment program that combines traditional treatment approaches with faith-based practices. We utilize evidence-based practices that are known to be effective when working with individuals who struggle with various forms of addiction. We utilize a combination of group therapy, individual therapy, and educational groups.

Our faith-based approaches include Bible study, daily morning devotions, 12-step meetings, regular church services, and Celebrate Recovery groups. Additionally, you will meet with our Pastor daily for your morning devotion and blessing, as well as once a week for an individual session. Our Pastor is active in various parts of our program, including a boundaries workshop, Bible study, and life’s healing choices workshops.

When you come to our treatment program, our first priority will be to conduct a medical evaluation. During this time, we will assess for withdrawal symptoms, concerns related to your addiction, and various mental health concerns. After we better understand your needs, we will work with you to identify a treatment path and goals for you to work towards.

Many of the patients that we work with utilize our detoxification program before beginning our inpatient rehab program. When we use drugs and alcohol in excess, our body changes the way it functions. This leads to withdrawal symptoms when we stop using.

For substances such as alcohol, benzodiazepines, and PCP, withdrawal can lead to seizures and death. While other substances may not directly lead to serious health concerns, they can lead to significant discomfort and other health concerns. While you are in our detox program, you will be supported by our medical staff around the clock, who will do their best to help you through this challenging time in your recovery.

Our Christian inpatient rehab program is where you will experience the combination of traditional treatment approaches and our faith-based programming. If you discussed mental health concerns, such as anxiety, during your initial evaluation, this is where you would begin receiving treatment for your symptoms. We recognize that everyone’s treatment needs are different, which is why your treatment plan may vary in length from others. We will focus on preparing you for the future by discussing relapse prevention skills and developing a relapse prevention plan specific to you and your life.

In terms of outpatient treatment, we have two programs available for Christian addiction treatment. This would include our partial hospitalization program (PHP) and our intensive outpatient program (IOP).

Partial hospitalization programs will continue to build upon the skills you learned in your inpatient program. You will have the opportunity to bring your challenges to your therapy sessions to process and learn from. You would be able to continue with your anxiety treatment in our PHP program. Recovery can be unpredictable and challenging. Knowing that you have a safe and supportive environment that shares your values in God can be reassuring during those trying moments. Our PHP includes programming for 6-8 hours a day, multiple days each week.

Intensive outpatient programs mainly utilize group and individual sessions in their treatment approach. These groups tend to last three hours, and you are expected to attend three to five sessions a week. Additionally, we will have you in weekly individual sessions to address concerns that have not been addressed in treatment. Similar to our PHP, you will be able to continue receiving treatment for mental health concerns, including anxiety.

Additionally, we can offer you and your family a family therapy program. Addiction is a disease that impacts the important people in our lives, and sometimes we need support in finding our way forward. Our Christian Counselors understand the role that your values and beliefs play in your relationship and are prepared to support you while you navigate your path forward. Family therapy can help you tackle concerns of trust, boundaries, and healthy communication.
